The itinerary includes the Serengeti National Park, The Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, Treetops’ Private 87,000 acre game concession and an excursion to Lake Manyara National Park. The itinerary begins and ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport. This is an eight day & seven-night itinerary (with optional extensions) - one of the most spectacular safaris in ‘Safari Africa’.
Situated on the foothills of Mount Meru, Arusha Coffee Lodge nestles within one of Tanzania’s largest working coffee plantations.
Characterized by plantation-style home comfort and luxurious guest amenities, Arusha Coffee Lodges’ Plantation Suites are a haven for calm and composure before or after a safari.
On Day 1 you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be welcomed by a SkySafari representative and then chauffeured to Arusha Coffee Lodge.
Your stay at Arusha Coffee Lodge is on an all-inclusive basis. You will return for a final night after you have completed your safari circuit (Day 8) if your departure point is Kilimanjaro Airport.
During the rainy season, the seasonal visitors scatter over a 20,000 sq km (12,500 sq miles) range until they exhaust the green plains and the river calls once more. But Tarangire's mobs of elephant are easily encountered, wet or dry. The swamps, tinged green year round, are the focus for 550 bird varieties, the most breeding species in one habitat anywhere in the world.
Day 2: After a fascinating coffee walking tour and a light lunch at the Lodge, you will be chauffeured the one mile transfer to the Arusha airstrip. Here you will join the SkySafari Cessna Caravan for the short 20-minute flight to the Tarangire National Park
On landing you will be met by your Elewana Guide and receive a ‘special’ SkySafari welcome. There follows a game-drive through the Tarangire National Park culminating in your arrival at Tarangire Treetops for a 2-night stay.
Within the Ngorongoro crater, large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze nearby while sleeping lions laze in the sun. At dawn, the endangered black rhino returns to the thick cover of the crater forests after grazing on dew-laden grass in the morning mist. Just outside the crater’s ridge, tall Masaai herd their cattle and goats over green pastures through the highland slopes, living alongside the wildlife as they have for centuries.
After breakfast on Day 4 you can enjoy a morning game-drive through the Tarangire National Park. Stopping at leisure for a picnic lunch on your way to Kuro airstrip, you will then fly to Manyara airstrip where you will be met by your Elewana Guide who will drive you the short distance to The Manor for a special warm welcome.
You will arrive at The Manor in time for High Tea. Here your 2-night stay will be in one of the beautiful Manor cottages set in the grounds of the estate. Your stay will be on an all-inclusive basis.
A million wildebeest... each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north; replenishing the species in a brief population explosion that produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.
Day 6 invites you to either visit Lake Manyara National Park or to stay at The Manor to explore the estate or choose from a host of activities.
After lunch you will be driven to the Manyara airstrip for your onward flight to the Serengeti where, upon arrival, you will be met by the Migration Camp Guide. Once again you will receive a ‘special’ welcome followed by transfer to Serengeti Migration Camp, arriving in time for sundowners.
Spending 2 nights at Serengeti Migration Camp, you will enjoy not only the luxuriant tented accommodation but also the drama and beauty of the Serengeti’s abundant wildlife. Your stay is on an all-inclusive basis.
